’Twas the night before Christmas 2019

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
But at the North Pole, things weren’t looking so merry
As Santa had issues with his Christmas itinerary

“Why can’t we just go the traditional route?”
He said as he pulled on his Christmas red suit,
“First Aachen, then Aalborg, then Aalen and Aalsmeer
The As then the Bs, that’s the best way for reindeer.”

A young elf named Greta had made things quite clear
(Turns out she had won Time Elf of the Year)
“This isn’t the best way, I’ll give you a hint
We’ve got to reduce our carbon footprint!”

The helpful young elf was just then brainstorming
New ways to reduce the Claus’ global warming.
“Let’s put all your stops for tonight in a list,
And make sure that no child in the world will be missed”

“But we’re so short of time!” said St Nick in a flap
“Chill out,” said the elf, “for your list there’s an app!”
“We’ll just download Lemi and fill in the places
Your sleigh needs to visit tonight as it races…

…to all the world’s children from Aachen to Zwolle,
Lemi will make your journey’s distance much smaller
And show all the places to go on a map
We’ll be back at the North Pole in time for a nap!”

The little helper’s plan was employed
(Lucky that Santa’s sleigh runs Android)
And I heard him exclaim ’ere he drove out of sight
“Lemi wish you all, a merry Christmas night!”
